Jack Black, James Marsden teaming up for “The D-Train” comedyFebruary 11, 2014 - 10:02 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Jack Black and James Marsden are teaming up to star in The D-Train, a comedy being produced by Mike White's RipCord Productions, Black's Electric Dynamite and Ealing Studios, The Hollywood Reporter said. The low-budget indie, which is gearing up to shoot in New Orleans later this month, is the directorial debut of Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, the writers of the 2008 Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man and co-creators, with Jonah Hill, of the short-lived cartoon Allen Gregory. D-Train centers on a Middle America high school reunion committee chairman (Black), still searching for high school acceptance, who has to do whatever it takes, including flying to Los Angeles to penetrate the world of celebrities, to get the most popular guy from high school -- now a failed actor working in commercials (Marsden) -- to show up to their 20-year reunion. White also is set to appear in the movie as Black’s only friend in high school. Nat Faxon is in negotiations to join the cast as well. White is producing with his RipCord Productions partner David Bernad as well as Black and his Electric Dynamite partner Priyanka Mattoo. Barnaby Thompson and Ben Latham Jones of Ealing Studios also are producing. (Ealing and Londinium are financing and co-producing.) UTA and WME are co-handling domestic rights. Black starred in the White-penned Orange County, School of Rock and Nacho Libre. Marsden is prepping to star in Best of Me, a Relativity romance that was to have starred Paul Walker.
