Five Armenian Citizens Killed in Russia in First Quarter of 2006
The number of crimes on national ground has lately increased in Russia, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) Ara Abramyan stated at a news conference in Moscow. In his words, according to UAR data five Armenian citizens were killed in Russia, the latest being the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Moscow.

«We should wait for completion of the investigation and if there is a national element there we should not keep silent. The UAR will follow the investigation. We suggest holding a round table for NGOs and national organizations to work out joint actions to fight xenophobia,» Abramyan said.

The UAR President believes Russia has encountered a serious problem and «the earlier Russia realizes the scale of the danger posed by national and religious hatred, the earlier the society will be cured from that disease,» reports RIA Novosti.
