Twitter announces closure of #Music discovery service![]() March 24, 2014 - 15:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Twitter has announced the closure of its #Music discovery service, Digital Spy said. The app was pulled from the iOS App Store March 21 and will function for existing users until April 18. Twitter #Music was introduced last year as a platform for song recommendations based on the accounts users follow. It was also a place to stream tracks in-app through platforms such as Rdio, Spotify and iTunes. Despite tweaks along the way, the service failed to get off the ground and reports as early as October suggested the app's closure was imminent. Founder Kevin Thau also left the company just one week after it was launched. Writing on the microblogging site, Twitter #Music revealed the closure, adding: "We continue to experiment with new ways to bring you great content based on the music activity we see every day on Twitter."
