Quentin Tarantino to helm staged reading of “Hateful Eight”

PanARMENIAN.Net - "The Hateful Eight" may not hit theaters, but fans will get a chance to see it live on stage. Quentin Tarantino collaborates with Film Independent to host a staged reading of his unmade script in an event scheduled for April 24 at LACMA. It will be one-night-only gig and will neither be recorded nor live-streamed, AceShowbiz said.

The script revolves around "the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere."

The filmmaker will direct a group of actors he selects through material that mixes distinctively etched characters, drama, humor and violence. All proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit organization that produces Film Independent Spirit Awards and Los Angeles Film Festival. Tickets will go on sale starting April 9.

"Hateful Eight" movie is shut down after the script got leaked. Tarantino suspected it was an inner circle betrayal since he gave the script only to a few select people including "Django Unchained" producer Reggie Hudlin, "Reservoir Dogs" stars Michael Madsen and Tim Roth, and "Nebraska" actor Bruce Dern.

The director then sued Gawker for publishing news about the script leak complete with a download link.
