Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” stage reading rescheduled

PanARMENIAN.Net - The stage reading of Quentin Tarantino’s shelved script for “The Hateful Eight” has been rescheduled for April 19 at the theater at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, Variety reported.

Film Independent said that “unforeseen circumstances” had forced it to switch the time and location of the event, previously scheduled to take place April 24 at the the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Bing Theater.

The $200 tickets will go on sale to members of Film Independent, LACMA Film Club and New York Times Film Club on Friday at noon PT. If any tickets remain, they will go on sale to the general public at 5 p.m. PT on April 16.

Earlier this year Tarantino decided to shut down production after the script leaked without his approval. The event will not be recorded or live streamed.

The story takes place after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, trapping in a saloon in the middle of nowhere a pitiless and mistrustful group that includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner.

Claiming copyright infringement, Tarantino has sued Gawker over its posting a story on its Defamer site titled “Here Is the Leaked Quentin Tarantino Hateful Eight Script” with a link to a third-party website hosting the 146-page script.

U.S. District Judge John Walter has scheduled a hearing in the case for April 14 and set a Jan. 27, 2015, trial date.
