Azeri injustice forces Nakhijevan resident to cross Armenian border (video) April 16, 2014 - 16:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Nakhijevan resident Nazim Mamedov was detailed in an attempt to cross the Armenian border wile holding a white flag, Haqqin.az reported citing RFE/RL Azeri Service and human rights advocate Hakimeldostu Mehdiyev. According to Mehdiyev, Mamedov tried to flee to Armenia on April 12, driven to desperation after his complaint against a police sergeant who threatened and blackmailed his wife was ignored. The marriage of Mamedov, as well as those of his son and daughters broke up following the gossips that became circulated in his village. Earlier, Mamedov told the advocate that he’ll cross the border to the Armenian side unless the police officer is punished. At present, Mamedov is in the local department of the National Security Ministry with no further details revealed. A 37-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan Javid Orujev, his wife and three children applied to the Armenian side at the Bagratashen checkpoint at the Armenian-Georgian border on January 29. Orujev was under pressure from Azerbaijan’s special services ever after marrying a Baku resident of Armenian origin. In particular, he had been forced into trying to obtain data about Armenia and its Diaspora through the relatives of his ethnic Armenian wife, identified as 30-year-old Roya Mirzoyeva, and for that purpose he also unsuccessfully tried to become a resident of a European country.
