Oscar-nommed Hailee Steinfeld joins “Pitch Perfect 2” comedy May 1, 2014 - 12:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Hailee Steinfeld is joining the cast of Pitch Perfect 2, The Hollywood Reporter said. The move makes her one of the few new high-profile additions to the cast, which sees Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow returning. Elizabeth Banks, who co-starred and produced the original, is directing this sequel. Kay Cannon, who wrote the script for the original movie -- an adaptation of the book by Mickey Rapkin -- is writing the sequel. Filming on the Gold Circle/Universal film begins in May. A May 15, 2015 release is planned. Steinfeld, 17, snagged an Oscar nomination for her work with Jeff Bridges in True Grit and just wrapped shooting the action comedy Term Life opposite Vince Vaughn.
