Anne Hathaway musical romance “Song One” gets distribution deal

Anne Hathaway musical romance “Song One,” directed by Kate Barker-Froyland, landed a distribution deal with Cinedigm Corp. and The Film Arcade, TheWrap said.

“Song One” is set to have a multi-platform release in the fall.

Anne Hathaway will portray Franny, an anthropologist doing research in Morocco who is forced to return to the United States after her street musician brother is hit by a car and goes into a coma.

“Every song conveys a unique feeling, chosen carefully to fit each scene,” Kate Barker-Froyland said in a statement. “We recorded all the music live so performances of many wonderful musicians and singers are captured in the moment.”
