Microsoft advises consumers against Windows 10 preview

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft has advised non-enterprise users against downloading Windows Technical Preview, an early build of Windows 10, Digital Spy reported.

The computing giant suggests that members of the general public wait for the Consumer Preview of the operating system, due for release in early 2015.

"We've got the consumer preview at the start of 2015, then the developer preview in April, followed by the launch of the final version later in the year," a Microsoft spokesman told Pocket-lint.

Windows Technical Preview is aimed squarely at businesses, allowing their IT departments to take an early look at Windows 10's features and prepare their systems accordingly.

Windows 10, which is in development for PCs, tablets, smartphones and even Xbox consoles, takes a unified approach that combines enterprise functionality with consumer features.

Microsoft advises business users interested in Windows Technical Preview to install it to a secondary machine, as it is still a work in progress.
