Framework Agreement on Karabakh Being Discussed
Presently the parties to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict are discussing the items of the framework agreement, according to which the Armenian forces should "quit the Azerbaijani territories", OSCE Minsk Group U.S. Co-chair Matthew J. Bryza said. "The agreement will allow to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and restore the economic ties between them," Bryza said. The document provides for deployment of peacekeeping forces, international support to Karabakh and many other items. Referendum on the future status of Karabakh will be held at the final stage. Mr Bryza also said the Co-chairs call on the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents to accept the framework agreement. In his words, "political courage is essential for it." To note, June 22 in Vienna the OSCE MG Co-chairs met with the members of the OSCE Permanent Council and submitted the report on the negotiation process, reported FRE/FL.
