PayPal for Android adds fingerprint recognition supportDecember 5, 2014 - 18:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - PayPal for Android now supports fingerprint recognition on select Samsung Galaxy devices. According to Digital Spy, all users on Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha, and Galaxy Tab S can now use the biometric security system to authenticate their purchases. This functionality already existed in the PayPal app distributed through Samsung's app store, and has now come to the more prominent version on Google Play. Samsung opened up its fingerprint-scanning technology to third-party developers earlier this year, allowing firms like PayPal to take advantage of it. Apple is yet to do the same with the Touch ID scanner found on its latest iOS devices and has omitted PayPal support from its Apple Pay platform. The latest version of PayPal is available as a free download from Google Play. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
