Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier called not to question the talks on Turkey's accession to the EU. In an interview with Bild newspaper he said the goal of the talks is Turkey's full membership in the EU. These comments were caused by the recent statement made by Bavarian Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber, who excluded such possibility. Mr Stoiber pointed out to the economic situation in Turkey and the difference in social and cultural traditions, reported Deutsche Welle.
