The 160GB Classic, which can hold around 40,000 songs, is being sold on Amazon for as much as $1000. As Digital Spy reports citing The Guardian, more than 3,000 models have sold on eBay since Apple discontinued the device, although some buyers have reported damage to their iPods. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously opened up about why the iPod Classic was axed. The company executive said that the music player had to be retired because manufacturers were no longer making components for them. The iPod Classic helped kickstart the digital music revolution back in 2001, enjoying a hugely successful 13-year lifespan.
