The Recording Academy announced on Thursday, December 18 that they'd honor the two musicians with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming ceremony, AceShowbiz said. Other names set to receive the prestigious prize include Buddy Guy, country duo the Louvin Brothers, saxophonist Wayne Shorter, French composer Pierre Boulez and Texas Tejano musician Flaceo Jimenez. "This year we pay tribute to exceptional creators who have made prolific contributions to our culture and history," Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow said in a press statement. "It is an honor and a privilege to recognize such a diverse group of talented trailblazers, whose incomparable bodies of work and timeless legacies will continue to be celebrated for generations to come." Harrison, Bee Gees and the others will be honored at the annual Special Merit Grammy Awards Ceremony, an invitation-only event which will be held on Saturday, February 7.
