Amazon giving away free apps to celebrate Christmas

Amazon is giving away free apps again this Christmas to celebrate the season of goodwill, Digital Spy said.

From today (December 24) until Boxing Day, the company is offering a bundle of apps worth $230 for nothing via the Amazon Appstore.

Titles include popular games such as Angry Birds Space, Colin McRae Rally, Worms 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

In the music-related categories, users can get their hands on premium apps such as TuneIn Radio Pro and iReal Pro – Music Book & Play Along.

There's also a wide selection of apps ranging from photo-editing, health and fitness, and utilities.

The most expensive apps going free are the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, 8th edition – which normally costs $34 – and The Muscular System Manual: The Skeletal Muscles of the Human Body, which usually sells for $64.
