Intel rolls out gum pack-sized PC Compute Stick

PanARMENIAN.Net - Intel has announced the Compute Stick, a fully-fledged PC that is no bigger than a pack of chewing gum, Digital Spy reports.

Unveiled at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, the device turns any HDMI-ready television into a Windows 8.1 or Linux-based home computer.

The Windows version of the Compute Stick is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3735F CPU and 2GB of RAM, and comes with a microSD slot to boost its 32GB of storage.

Its Linux counterpart is powered by the same chipset, but comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a lower price tag. Both models support built-in WiFi connectivity.

Intel claims that the Compute Stick is ideal for developers or business users who require remote IT support while on the move.

The device will be released in March, priced at $149 for the Windows edition and $89 for the Linux flavour.
