LG, Audi team for webOS-powered smartwatch

PanARMENIAN.Net - LG is teaming up with Audi to bring its webOS operating system to smartwatches.

The two companies revealed a prototype wearable device running the software at CES 2015, but it appears to be in the prototype phase, Digital Spy reports citing Android Central.

The webOS watch appears to be a modified version of the LG G Watch R, with a stainless steel finish and leather strap, optimised to work with Audi's in-car systems.

LG has previously used the webOS software, which it acquired from Hewlett-Packard in early 2013, for smart televisions, but appears to be exploring new avenues.

The two companies are expected to reveal further details about the wearable devices at the Mobile World Congress in March.

LG revealed a new smartphone at CES in the form of the LG G Flex 2, a handset with a 5.5-inch curved display.
