Syrian rebels, local govt. agree to truce in Homs January 15, 2015 - 16:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Activists say Syrian rebels and local government officials have agreed to a truce in the last opposition-held area of the central city of Homs, according to the Associated Press. Activist Beibars al-Tilawi said the 10-day truce beginning Thursday, Jan 15, will allow more food to enter the al-Waar area. He says it will also provide time to negotiate a more lasting resolution to the 20-month standoff in al-Waar, which has been besieged by government forces. Al-Tilawi said rebels sought the truce to alleviate the suffering of civilians, and because they were outgunned by government forces. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the truce.  Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
