Marion Cotillard to team with Michael Fassbender for “Assassin’s Creed”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Marion Cotillard is set to reteam with her “Macbeth” co-star Michael Fassbender and director Justin Kurzel on the video game adaptation “Assassin’s Creed,” an individual familiar with the 20th Century Fox project has told TheWrap.

New Regency and Ubisoft are behind the film, which is slated to start production this fall in advance of its Dec. 21, 2016 release.

Cotillard is no stranger to fanboy-friendly, action-heavy tentpoles, having co-starred in “The Dark Knight Rises.” While details of her role are being kept under wraps, her character is expected to recur in future films should “Assassin’s Creed” launch a franchise.

Fassbender is producing with Frank Marshall, Arnon Milchan, Jean-Julien Baronnet, Conor McCaughan and Pat Crowley, and the film is being co-financed by RatPac and Alpha Pictures. Bill Collage and Adam Cooper wrote the script with Michael Lesslie.

Cotillard won an Oscar for “La Vie en Rose” and is nominated for an Oscar this year for “Two Days, One Night.”

The news was first reported by Deadline.
