Björk named headliner for UK’s Wilderness Festival

PanARMENIAN.Net - Björk will bring her new album to the UK festival circuit this summer, headlining the annual Wilderness festival in Oxford. Following news of her New York dates, the musician will showcase music from Vulnicura at the boutique event, The Guardian reports.

Taking place from August 6 to 9 at Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire, the Friday night slot is Björk’s first confirmed headline set at a UK festival since she unveiled her eighth album in January. Ahead of this performance, she will play two shows at New York’s Carnegie Hall and a further four at the City Centre in March and April this year.

Elsewhere singer-songwriter Ben Howard will close the event on the Sunday, and funk legend George Clinton, is set to perform with Parliament and Funkadelic on Saturday.

Róisín Murphy, Nick Mulvey, Caravan Palace and Hercules and Love Affair have also been confirmed, as well as London-born musician, poet and pianist Benjamin Clementine, electro experimentalists Brandt Bauer Frick Ensemble and classical/electronic musician Nils Frahm.

Last year’s Wilderness – described as “the world’s biggest dinner party” – was headlined by Burt Bacharach, Jessie Ware and Metronomy.
