Sony moves ahead with Google Glass rival plansFebruary 18, 2015 - 11:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony is moving ahead with its plans to enter the virtual reality sector with the launch of the SmartEyeglass headset, Digital Spy reports. The electronics giant has announced that the Google Glass rival will ship to developers in various territories next month, launching at $950. SmartEyeglass works in much the same way as Google Glass, syncing with a smartphone and beaming visual information to the user's field of vision. However, the device sends imagery to both eyes, rather than one like Google's prototype headset. Sony showcased the hardware for the first time at the IFA trade show last September, and is also working on a variation of the tech called SmartEyeglass Attach. Also in the prototype phase, SmartEyeglass Attach can be affixed to a standard pair of spectacles to turn them into smartglasses.
