A marketing agency has produced convincing renders of the iPhone 6C, showing how the rumoured handset might look, Digital Spy reports.

3DFuture has imagined the device as a plastic-coated version of the iPhone 6, following in the footsteps of 2013's iPhone 5C.

Based on Apple's previous past releases habits, the iPhone 6C would feature the same internals as the iPhone 6, with a more powerful iPhone 6S launching alongside it.

However, it is yet to be confirmed whether Apple will continue to offer a budget version of its flagship handset, given that it now offers a larger alternative in the form of the iPhone 6 Plus.

Previous reports suggest that the iPhone 5C was the bestselling smartphone in the UK last August, with demand unaffected by the launch of the iPhone 6.

Apple is expected to refresh its iPhone line in September this year.
