Sony rolls out “world's lightest” Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony has revealed its latest tablet device at a Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona today (March 2), Digital Spy reports.

The company claims that its Xperia Z4 Tablet is the world's lightest and slimmest 10-inch tablet on the market, measuring in at 6.1mm thick and weighing just 393g.

Like its predecessor the Xperia Z2 Tablet, it's waterproof and dust resistant, but the 10.1-inch LTPS display has jumped to a 2560 x 1600 resolution with a pixel density of 299ppi.

Sony has also reduced the size of the bezel, as well as introducing curved rounded edges and a matte back to its design.

On the inside, there is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory and a microSD slot for any extra storage needs.

The hardware maker has retained the 6000mAh battery found on board the Xperia Z2 Tablet too, which it claims will provide enough juice to last up to 17 hours.

While the rear camera remains unchanged at 8 megapixels, the front snapper has improved from 2.2 megapixels up to 5 megapixels, and also uses a wide-angle lens.

A BKB50 Bluetooth Keyboard can also be attached to the tablet, turning it into the "ultimate laptop-style experience".

The device will be available in a choice of black and white colours, and either 4G LTE or Wi-Fi only models from June 2015. Exact pricing is yet to be confirmed.
