Eric Clapton announces two NY shows at Madison Square GardenMarch 13, 2015 - 11:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Eric Clapton has just announced that he will be playing two shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden this May, according to Gigwise. To celebrate his 70th birthday, Clapton will be performing at MSG on May 1 and 2, although the dates might change if there is a conflict with a playoff game. In addition to celebrating his birthday, these shows also commemorate the 46th anniversary since Clapton’s band Cream opened the “new” Madison Square Garden on November 2, 1968. Clapton has performed at the venue more times than at any other US-based venue: a whopping 45 times. Clapton will be accompanied by his band members Paul Carrack, Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Chris Stainton, Sharon White and Michelle John, and serving as the support act will be Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders.
