Alchemy nabs Milla Jovovich’s action-thriller “Survivor”March 21, 2015 - 11:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Alchemy has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Milla Jovovich’s action-thriller “Survivor” for a multi-platform release this year, Variety reports. James McTeigue (“V for Vendetta”) directed from Phil Selby’s script. Pierce Brosnan, Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett and Robert Forster also star. Jovovich plays a Foreign Service officer in London who tries to prevent a terrorist attack set in New York, but is forced to go on the run after she is framed for crimes she didn’t commit. Producers are Charles Winkler, Irwin Winkler, Matt O’Toole and Les Weldon. Exec producers are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Jason Bloom. It’s the third acquisition that Alchemy has announced this week. The company acquired worldwide rights to director Mitch Dickman’s marijuana documentary “Rolling Papers” on March 16 following its premiere at South by Southwest. Earlier in the festival Alchemy picked up Antoine Bardou-Jacquet’s action-comedy “Moonwalkers,” starring Ron Perlman, Rupert Grint and Robert Sheehan. The company specializes in independent distribution and owns a catalog of 665 titles. It rebranded itself late last year, changing its name from Millennium Entertainment to Alchemy.
