Van Halen unveils dates for massive North American tour

PanARMENIAN.Net - Van Halen is spending their summer hitting the road. The veteran rock band announced on Tuesday, March 24 that they'd embark on a massive North American tour starting on July 5 in Seattle, Wash. at the White River Amphitheater, AceShowbiz reports.

The 39-date trek will then hit other cities across the U.S. and Canada like Salt Lake City, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Toronto, Detroit, Houston and San Diego before concluding on October 2 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Calif.

Tickets go on sale on April 4 via Live Nation/Ticketmaster, said the band's publicist. The Kenny Wayne Shepherd band will be joining the upcoming shows as a supporting act.

Van Halen is now promoting their "Tokyo Dome Live in Concert", a live album they recorded during their "A Different Kind of Truth Tour". It's their first live set to feature their original lead singer David Lee Roth who rejoined the group in 2006 after a 20-year split. Scheduled to come out on March 31, the disc includes a number of Van Halen songs from the Roth era.

Additionally, they plan to remaster their classic albums and release them later this year. They'll start with reissues of "Van Halen" and "1984" that are also due out on March 31.

To celebrate the albums' arrival, the rockers will visit "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on March 30 and 31 and shut down the Hollywood Boulevard for a two-night special performance. Interestingly, this will be Roth's first U.S. TV appearance as a part of Van Halen.
