Former The Beatles member Paul McCartney, heavy metal band Metallica, British rising star Sam Smith, and indie rock band Florence and the Machine are lined up to make merry the music event, AceShowbiz reports. McCartney is scheduled to kick off the musical extravaganza at the Grant Park, Chicago on Friday night, July 31 along with the likes of The Weeknd, Kaskade, and Alabama Shakes. It will become Mecca's first performance at the event. Metallica and Smith, meanwhile, are set to rock the stage on the following night. They will be joined by Kid Cudi, Tyler, the Creator, Charli XCX, and many others. It will mark Metallica's return to a stage for the first time since 1996. The three-day festival is going to be closed with performances by Florence Welch and her band. Also performing on Sunday night, August 2 are A$AP Rocky, TV on the Radio, Nero, Marina and the Diamonds, and FKA Twigs.
