Christina Aguilera goes country on song

PanARMENIAN.Net - Christina Aguilera goes country on her newly-released song called "The Real Thing". Arriving on iTunes on Tuesday, April 14, it is one of the pop diva's contributions to the soundtrack of season 3 of "Nashville", AceShowbiz reports.

The up-tempo rock-tinged country track highlights Xtina's signature powerful vocals as she sings over the high-energy beat and electric guitar. "Baby I'm coming better ready yourself/ Be looking for me 'cause I'm the real thing," she brags in the chorus. In addition to recording the song for "Nashville", Aguilera is making a guest appearance on the ABC show. Playing a pop star named Jade St. John, she will perform "The Real Thing" in the show's Wednesday episode. She'll perform "Shotgun", another song she's cut for the series, next week.

While busy with her role as a coach on "The Voice", Aguilera has also been working on her new album. The follow-up to 2012's "Lotus" still has no official title or release date.

"I just have to make sure it's right, and it's genuine and it's heartfelt, and I'm very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully," she explained in an interview earlier this year. "I've been gathering and writing and coming up with these amazing ideas for different parts of how I was feeling the past year, so I'm really excited to vocalize all of it and make it all come together."
