Oscar-nommed Hailee Steinfeld to topline “Break My Heart 1,000 Times”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hailee Steinfeld is set to star in the Gold Circle Films supernatural romantic thriller “Break My Heart 1,000 Times” penned by “Wonder Woman” scribe Jason Fuchs, Variety reports.

Scott Speer will helm the pic, which is based on the Daniel Waters young adult novel.

The story is set after a cataclysmic event has torn the barrier between our world and the next, leaving “Remnants” — or ghostlike essences of the deceased — part of everyday life. After years of quiet coexistence with the living, a Remnant sends a threatening message to a young girl, propelling her on a mission with consequences that will forever change the course of her life.

The film will be produced by Paul Brooks, with Scott Niemeyer, Brad Kessell and Fuchs exec producing. Good Universe will handle international sales.

Gold Circle and Steinfeld have a history: They just worked together on Universal’s “Pitch Perfect 2.” The actress is also set to appear in the A24 pic “Barely Lethal.”

Speer last directed “Step Up: Revolution” for Summit/Lionsgate.

Fuchs is currently working on the “Pan 2″ script.
