IWC strap makes regular watches smartMay 8, 2015 - 11:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Watch maker IWC has revealed a smart strap upgrade for its Schaffausen watch, adding fitness tracking and internet of things connectivity to the accessory, Digital Spy reveals. The IWC Connect module attaches to a watch strap to bring additional functionality, but lacks a display and does not deliver notifications. Even with the Connect attached, the IWC Schaffausen fails to qualify as a fully-fledged smartwatch, but it does eliminate the need to wear two devices in the gym. Smart strap upgrades are not a new concept, with Montblanc previously bringing an OLED display, notifications and sensors to watch bands with its e-Strap. A release date and pricing for the IWC Connect are yet to be announced. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
