VivaCell-MTS subscribers to immediately reach 911 local officesMay 14, 2015 - 16:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - VivaCell-MTS has made a major breakthrough in enhancing the accessibility of 911 services through mobile communication service for the population, the company has announced. Now, when dialing 911 or 112 free numbers from their mobile phones, the subscribers of the company living in Lori, Ararat, Shirak, Gegharqunik and Syunik provinces, will reach the local offices of the Emergency Situations Service. The new system was implemented after passing successful testing in the above mentioned territories. Earlier, when contacting the 911, the residents would reach the Call Center of the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency and Territorial Administration in Yerevan, which handled the call by instructing the local office to take appropriate action. Owing to the recently installed special equipment, the call is now redirected to the local office of the Emergency Situations Service based on the information received from the cellular tower handling the call from a resident to either 911 or 112 free numbers, which is made possible in the framework of cooperation between Ministry of Emergency Situations and Territorial Administration of Armenia and the Company. The innovation is aimed at shortening the response time of the rescue service in emergency situations.
