MoU signed to boost Tatev area economic developmentMay 25, 2015 - 15:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center of Armenia (SME DNC of Armenia) and World Wide Fund for Nature – Armenia (WWF-Armenia) will support the diversification of income opportunities for the village of Tatev and neighboring communities (Tandzatap, Svarants). According to a press release, Memorandum of Understanding to kick-off the cooperation between two organizations was signed Monday, May 25, by Gegham Petrosyan, Executive Director of SME DNC of Armenia and Karen Manvelyan, Director of WWF-Armenia. In the framework of the USAID funded Partnerships for Rural Prosperity (USAID/PRP) program, SME DNC of Armenia provide a comprehensive product marketing consultancy for producer groups of the villages and sector-specific training for the producers. SME DNC will also provide financial support via loan guarantees and small grants (in a form of equipment) to selected producers of Tatev cluster. WWF-Armenia will construct a collection point in Tatev cluster and supply it with supplementary equipment for drying, packaging and storing of locally made products. Besides, WWF-Armenia will provide development of touristic small infrastructure, including information boards, trail signs.
