Tobey Maguire to produce “I Take You” comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tobey Maguire and Matthew Plouffe have acquired feature film rights to Eliza Kennedy’s debut novel “I Take You” and will produce the project with “Whiplash” producer Helen Estabrook, TheWrap reports.

Maguire and Plouffe will produce through their Material Pictures banner. Estabrook brought the project to Material and she and Plouffe will spearhead development.

Kennedy will write the script for “I Take You,” published by Crown on May 5. The story follows a 20-something New York lawyer as her wedding to the seemingly perfect fiancé approaches in Key West. However, she starts to ask questions about whether the happiest day of her life might turn out to be her worst mistake.

Maguire and Plouffe’s recent producing credits include “Pawn Sacrifice” with Maguire also starring as Bobby Fischer and the upcoming “Z for Zachariah.”

Kennedy attended the University of Iowa and Harvard Law School, where she was editor-in-chief of the Harvard Law Review.
