“Grandma” Sundance comedy trailer features Lily Tomlin

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lily Tomlin isn’t your average granny, as evidenced by the latest trailer for the comedy “Grandma”, which debuted at Sundance. Tomlin stars as Elle Reid, a lesbian poet who finds out her teenage granddaughter Sage (Julie Garner) is pregnant and needs $630 before sundown for an abortion.

In the clip, we see the duo scurry around town to ask friends and old lovers for money, TheWrap reports.

One of the people Elle turns to is a tattoo artist named Deathy (Laverne Cox) who owes her money. Unable to pay, Deathy convinces Grandma to get a tattoo instead.

The movie stars Nat Wolff of “Paper Towns” as Sage’s slacker boyfriend, along with Marcia Gay Harden, Judy Greer and Sam Elliott.

“Grandma” was written and directed by “About A Boy” filmmaker Paul Weitz and is being distributed by Sony Pictures Classics. It was selected as the opening-night film at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival.

The movie opens in theaters on Aug. 21.
