"Queen of the Desert" trailer features Nicole Kidman (video) July 4, 2015 - 13:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A new trailer for Werner Herzog's "Queen of the Desert" has arrived. The film follows Gertrude Bell (Nicole Kidman), an English explorer, who travels trough the Middle East during the early 20th century, AceShowbiz reports. The trailer opens with Bell's adventure in the Middle East, where she encounters archaeologist T.E. Lawrence (Robert Pattinson), who is also known as "Lawrence of Arabia". It continues with the scenes where Bell gets annoyed by men who want to control her. Despite the political issue, the movie seems to highlight a love story between Bell and a secretary of the embassy, Henry Cadogan (James Franco). She struggles to deal with the conflicts of love and tragedy, enemy and friend, and foreign and familiar as she tries to understand and unify people from different cultures. According to the official synopsis, "a curious and adventurous young woman eager to explore the world outside of England, Bell goes to the British embassy in Tehran where she quickly falls in love with a secretary of the embassy, Cadogan. This sparks the beginning of a life-long adventure among the beautiful but misunderstood peoples and cultures of the Middle East." "Along the way, her path intersects with archaeologist Lawrence also known as Lawrence of Arabia, and Major Charles Doughty-Wylie (Damian Lewis), the British Consul General in the Ottoman Empire. The film is based on the true story of Getrude Bell, who was a British political officer and archaeologist. Produced by Cassian Elwes, Nick N. Raslan and Michael Benaroya, the movie is set for a release in limited theaters in the U.S. on September 30.
