Syria to get fresh $1bn credit line from Iran: state media July 8, 2015 - 23:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has signed a law ratifying a fresh $1 billion credit line from top regional ally Iran, Syria's state news agency SANA said in a newsflash on Wednesday, July 8, according to Reuters. The credit line agreement was between two state-owned banks, the Syrian Commercial Bank and Export Development Bank of Iran, it said. SANA reported on Tuesday that the deal was signed on May 19 and approved by the Syrian parliament. The money would be used for funding imports of goods and commodities and implementing projects, it said, without giving details.  Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
