NATO Information Center Opened in Yerevan
The opening of the NATO Information Center in Armenia fits the requirements of the NATO-Armenia IPAP, Armenian Deputy FM Arman Kirakosyan said. «We expect that Armenia and the NATO will be able to get to know each other better and be better prepared to problems and challenges that appear,» Kirakosyan remarked.

In his turn NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons underscored that the Center will link Armenia and the Alliance. «The opening of the Center evidences the high rate of development of NATO-Armenia relations,» Robert Simmons said.

The Center will officially start working on November 1, however unofficial opening ceremony marked the visit of the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative.

The Center is legally subordinate to the Alliance. Its founder - the Armenian Center for Transatlantic Initiative closely cooperates with the Armenian Government. The Center mission is to provide information on the NATO and establish close cooperation between Armenia and Alliance member countries.

US Temporary Chargé d'Affaires in Armenia Anthony Godfrey and Bulgarian Ambassador Stephan Dimitrov were also present at the ceremony.
