Oscar-tipped “Carol” new trailer features Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara (video) August 17, 2015 - 17:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Cate Blanchett might want to get another acceptance speech ready if the trailer for Carol is anything to go by, Digital Spy reports. The actress stars in the 1950s drama as a woman in a loveless marriage who finds herself drawn to a department store clerk, played by Rooney Mara. Critics who saw the film at Cannes earlier this year have tipped Blanchett to win her second Oscar in three years, while Mara is also tipped for success. The film - which is based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith - is set to receive its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival this autumn. Back in May, Blanchett denied saying that she has had affairs with women in the past, but also added that nobody should care if she has. Blanchett's film with Robert Redford, Truth, is also tipped to be among the contenders during the 2016 awards season. Carol will arrive in the US on November 20 and will open in the UK on November 27.
