"Trainspotting" hit Irvine Welsh adaptation to get sequel

PanARMENIAN.Net - It has been years since director Danny Boyle revealed he had an idea about making a sequel to 1996's hit "Trainspotting". In a recent interview with Deadline, the director hinted that "Trainspotting 2" would probably happen and the four main actors wanted to come back, AceShowbiz reports.

Boyle was at the Telluride Film Festival for the first public screening of his latest film "Steve Jobs". After the event, he revealed that his next project might be "Trainspotting 2".

"All the four main actors want to come back and do it, and so now it is only a matter of getting all their schedules together which is complicated by two of them doing American TV series," Boyle said.

There isn't any detail available just yet, but it is predicted that the director will go back to the source material. The movie may be based on "Trainspotting" sequel, "Porno", which was published by author Irvine Welsh in 2002.

Since "Trainspotting 2" will reportedly bring back all of the central actors, it seems like the movie will get underway after they arrange the schedule well so that there's no scheduling conflict. "Trainspotting" starred Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle and Ewen Bremner. All of them have found success either on the big screen or small screen.

Miller and Carlyle are currently doing TV series "Elementary" and "Once Upon a Time" respectively. McGregor recently starred in "Mortdecai" alongside Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow. As for Bremner, his latest acting credits were "Exodus: Gods and Kings" and "Get Santa".
