iPhone 6s to feature pressure-sensitive 3D displaySeptember 7, 2015 - 12:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The iPhone 6s will feature a 3D Touch Display, a revamped version of the pressure-sensitive screen and touchpad current used in the Apple Watch and new MacBook, reports suggest, according to the Telegraph. The new screens will be able to differentiate between three modes; a tap, a press and a prolonged press as to their level of pressure - an advancement on the press/long press sensitivity of the Watch and Mac. Force Touch is Apple's method of using a single surface to trigger multiple functions depending on how much pressure you apply. Force Touching an Apple Watch, for example, pulls up the menu to change the watch face, while Force clicking using a trackpad reveals locations when used on maps, previews a file's contents or adds an event to a calendar invite, and so on. Force Touch's integration into the iPhone 6s could be used to trigger directions to a defined spot within Maps, or in-depth menu options within Apple Music. Rumours have been circulating around the technology's use within the new iPhones for some time. It is also likely the new generation of iPads will benefit from it. The new phones are also expected to sport Force Touch technology, which detects how hard the user is pressing and allows different actions to be carried out accordingly. According to reports, the technology will allow menu "shortcuts" that enable users to find options on menus more quickly. One of the most prevalent rumours is that the new generation of iPhones will see the introduction of a new rose-gold model.
