Samsung speakers blast 360-degree audio

PanARMENIAN.Net - Samsung has thrown the gauntlet down to Sonos in the home audio arena with three new additions to its Wireless Audio 360 speaker range, Digital Spy reports.

The R1, R3 and R5 models are wireless multi-room speakers that use ring-radiator technology to fill the room with sound.

The new speakers sport a tubular look, marking a departure from their egg-shaped predecessors on the design front.

Samsung has also revamped its Multiroom App for iOS and Android to coincide with their launch, but the new Wireless Audio 360 models also include physical controls.

"With these additional models we are bringing a new kind of high quality sound to the market, with design that is simple, yet premium, and offers a more intuitive user interface," said Samsung vice president Jurack Chae.

"The R5, R3 and R1 will help cement Samsung's position as a world leader in home audio."

The new Wireless Audio 360 models will be released in the UK and US in the final quarter of 2015, with prices ranging between $199 and $399.
