Speaking during a live Q&A in New York City on Tuesday night to support his new solo album Crosseyed Heart, he said that the band had “definite plans” for a new record. They’ll be hitting the studio together after their so far unannounced South American tour. Although the average age between the four key members is 71.25 years old, there doesn’t appear to be any plans in the foreseeable future for retiring to golf courses, comfortable chairs and endless packets of Werther’s Originals. Although Keith Richards did recently reveal his older mentality when he described hip-hop as music for "tone deaf people," as well as labelling Metallica and Black Sabbath as "jokes." The band’s last album A Bigger Bang arrived in 2005, although the band did record new song ‘Doom And Gloom’ for their 50th anniversary compilation GRRR! in 2012. Keith Richards first solo album in 23 years, Crosseyed Heart will arrive 18 September.
