Alibaba’s “Little Door Gods” animation unveils 1st trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Little Door Gods” claims a lot of firsts. The debut feature from new Chinese studio Light Chaser Animation, “Little Door Gods” is the first animation picture to be distributed by Alibaba Pictures Group — the movie investment arm of e-commerce giant Alibaba — and it is the first film to receive backing from China’s Internet rivals Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent, Variety reports.

Other records include the film’s budget and number of rendering hours for a Chinese production.

For all that, the picture is a modern-day story of two traditional “Door Gods” facing unemployment in the spirit world as ever fewer people in today’s human world still believe in the spirits. One of them crosses over into the human world to do something big and to prove his value.

The first full length trailer was released ahead of a major theatrical outing in January 2016.
