President talks challenges, foreign policy in Carnegie Endowment speechOctober 2, 2015 - 12:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On the last day of his working visit to the U.S., President Serzh Sargsyan attended on Thursday, October 1, a reference-free discussion, organized by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the President's office reports. In his speech to representatives of the U.S. expert community, the President addressed issues on Armenia’s foreign policy, as well as the present-day international problems and challenges that pose a threat to peace and security. The President briefed the attendees on the current stage of Nagorno Karabakh peace process and the situation in the conflict zone. Serzh Sargsyan also talked about the Middle East crisis and Armenia’s stance on the issue. The President commented on the ongoing reforms in Armenia, implemented with the support of its European partners, and the process of the country's constitutional amendments. Sargsyan answered a number of questions, concerning issues on Armenia’s socio-economic development, the country’s policy to ensure steady economic growth and involvement in different integration processes, and the prospects of Armenia-Turkey relations.
