Winner of ArmenTel Tender Not Known Yet

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communication has not received respective documents from OTE on the outcomes of the tender on selling 90% of shares of ArmenTel Armenian telecommunication company, Ministry Spokesperson Tamara Galechyan reported. October 12 Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Andranik Manukyan reported that the OTE will probably provide the respective documents to the Government in the middle of October. In his words, in compliance with the law, the Greek company has to officially inform about the outcomes of the contest. «HSBC English bank is engaged in selling ArmenTel shares. It is a matter up to the OTE whom they will sell their shares, but the agreement of the Armenian Government is necessary,» Manukyan remarked, reports IA Regnum.



This year OTE Greek company announced a tender to sell 90% of ArmenTel shares held by it. 16 companies took part in the contest. Russian VimpelCom and MTC, as well as ETISALAT (Emirates Telecommunications Corporation/Istithmar ETV -Emergent Telecom Ventures) и VTEL Holdings/Knightsbridge Associates passed to the second round.
