Amazon launches service to find security, compliance issuesOctober 8, 2015 - 11:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Amazon Web Services announced Wednesday, October 7, Amazon Inspector, a sort of bot service that looks for and identifies potential security and compliance vulnerabilities, VentureBeat reports. Amazon Inspector is available in preview. The tool draws on the knowledge that Amazon has built up over 20 years of operation, AWS senior vice president Andy Jassy said at the AWS re:Invent conference in Las Vegas. The service generates reports on security posture and suggests next steps. “You can tell which assessments were done, what findings they have, and what they actually did to remediate,” Jassy said. That Amazon would do this isn’t a major surprise. Startups like CloudPassage and Dome9 offer cloud security services, and open-source tools that have come out of Netflix provide related automated assistance.
