Azeri subversive group attempts to cross contact line with KarabakhOctober 10, 2015 - 12:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - An Azerbaijani subversive group took an unsuccessful attempt to cross the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh armed forces on Saturday, October 10, at 3:05 am local time. NKR Defense Army units identified the Azerbaijani group on time, took retaliatory measures and threw the rivals back to their positions. No casualties were registered on the Armenian side. Besides, 150 ceasefire violations by Azeri armed forces were registered on Saturday. NKR Defense Army said its frontline units silenced the attacks and continue controlling the situation. The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan broke out as result of the ethnic cleansing launched by the Azeri authorities in the final years of the Soviet Union. The Karabakh War was fought from 1991 (when the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was proclaimed) to 1994 (when a ceasefire was sealed by Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan). Most of Nagorno Karabakh and a security zone consisting of 7 regions are now under control of NKR defense army.
