"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm joins "Baby Driver" crime thrillerOctober 21, 2015 - 04:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In his first move since signing off from Mad Men, Jon Hamm has joined Ansel Elgort in TriStar and MRC's Baby Driver, the latest movie from filmmaker Edgar Wright, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. The crime thriller centers on a getaway driver, a near mute with an ear condition who relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. Hamm will play one of the film’s villains, a former Wall Street trader turned cop killer who is part of the gang of bank robbers. Lily James is already on board as the love interest, a waitress. Working Title and Nira Park are producing. MRC and TriStar are co-financing the project 50-50. Hamm is coming to the project following a long-deserved Emmy win for his work on AMC’s Mad Men; the actor had been nominated for best actor eight times, once for each of the show’s seasons, before landing the prize for the show’s final outing. Among the actor’s film credits is The Town, with Ben Affleck, and Hamm is wrapping up shooting the Fox comedy Keeping Up With the Joneses with Gal Gadot and Zach Galifianakis.
