Jimi Hendrix’s London home opening up to the general public

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jimi Hendrix’s London home is opening up to the general public for the first time, just in case you were tired of playing the same three chords and looking for some atmospheric inspiration from the guitar wizard’s house, Gigwise reports.

Between 1968-69, Hendrix lived at 23 Brook Street in Mayfair with his then girlfriend Kathy Etchingham, next door to Handel House. He then moved to Notting Hill after the pair parted ways. Opening in February 2016, the flat will be housing an exhibition to the late guitar legend. Visitors will be able to view the top floor of the home after organisers spent two years renovating it to its original form.

Chairman of the Handel House Trust, Alistair Stranack, said, "It is hard to think of another home in the world with such a concentration of musical genius. Our research into the building and Hendrix’s circle of friends and acquaintances has enabled us to present an image of what life was like in his time at Brook Street."

"While it has been a pleasure to have been working in Jimi’s bedroom for the past few years, it is even more pleasing to be able to throw it open to everybody else."

“We wonder if the exhibition will be coinciding with the release (or at least a trailer?) of the official Jimi Hendrix biopic that was announced back in May, written by 8 Mile screenwriter, Scott SIlver. Only time will tell, we suppose,” Gigwise said.

Tickets for the exhibition will be on sale 2 November.
