Armenia is successfully developing and reforming the Armed Forces, Head of the OSCE Yerevan Office, Ambassador Vladimir Pryakhin said during "Human rights and military service" round table discussions held on Thursday. "Despite some difficulties the republic experiences in the building and modernization of its army the process, specifically the transformation to the contractual basis, is successful," the Ambassador said. According to Mr Pryakhin, the further development of contractual service is exclusively important for Armenia like for any other state and the OSCE is ready to render efficient support to the reforms. "The OSCE thinks that only a democratic state can have strong Armed Forces, Pryakhin resumed, reports Novosti-Armenia.
